Greetings from the Iowa Museums Archives & Libraries Emergency Response Team (IMALERT)! During recent group training, we watched a video we’d like to share with you. This live burn exercise is a dramatic demonstration showing the impact that proper and improper collection storage and different firefighting techniques can have on the outcome of a fire in collections.
Does your institution have an updated emergency plan? Have you ever been in touch with your local fire department about your unique spaces and collections?
