Scholarships for ICPC Members
Amount: The Iowa Conservation and Preservation Consortium (ICPC) is offering two reimbursement scholarships of up to $500 for conservation or collection-care coursework or travel expenses related to conservation or collection-care coursework.
What qualifies: Potential conservation or collections-care courses are offered online or in person by a variety of organizations, including (but not limited to the Northern States Conservation Center, Northeast Document Conservation Center, MuseumStudy.com, the Midwest Art Conservation Center, Connecting to Collections Care, Society of American Archivists, LYRASIS, American Library Association, American Records Management Association, American Association for State and Local History, among others.
Eligibility: Iowa residents or college students in Iowa who work in or have worked in a museum, historical society, library, archive, genealogical society library, government record office, or other institution that preserves the history and culture of Iowa. Eligible applicants must be individual members of the ICPC or from an organization that has an institutional membership with ICPC and must demonstrate that the class taken will be utilized within the state of Iowa.
Requirement: Scholarship recipients are required either to provide a tip sheet on the material covered or to present at a future ICPC SOS conference (usually in June).
Notification: Applicants will be notified as soon as winners are selected.
Reimbursement: The successful applicant will pay for and take a class and submit verification of course completion; for scholarships used for travel to a course site, travel-expense receipts will be required.
