Why join ICPC?

Now is the time to support Iowa’s collections! If you are a person interested in preserving or conserving any collection or item that resides in any Iowa repository or institution, we would like to invite you to join the Iowa Conservation and Preservation Consortium (ICPC).

It is because of you that we can continue to accomplish our three main goals are:

  • To increase awareness of preservation issues
  • Develop an understanding and commitment to preservation activities
  • Generate a statewide preservation plan for the benefit of present and future generations

This year promises to be an exciting one for ICPC! Here is a quick look at some of the opportunities that members will enjoy in 2025:

Save the Date: SOS Conference in June 2025, in Ames, IA!

  • Members will have an opportunity to attend ICPC’s annual Save Our Stuff (SOS) Conference in the spring.  Stay tuned for more details. There will be sessions on how to deal with many types of preservation issues.
  • The ICPC Annual Meeting will be held during the SOS Conference. 
  • The ICPC Professional Development Scholarships are available to members to continue to expand or brush up on their preservation knowledge and skills. Scholarships will be awarded on a first come first approved basis. Information and application forms for the scholarships may be found on the ICPC website page.
  • Preservation Destination: our popular fall event where we go behind the scenes into collection spaces of institutions around the state. We will have more details on this year’s location(s) later this spring!
  • We are excited to announce that ICPC now has Student Board Member Positions. . If you know an undergraduate or graduate student who would be interested in joining the ICPC Board please feel free to share it with them.

ICPC membership costs have remained the same since 2015 and this year we have simplified the membership levels.

Individual Membership Levels & Benefits

  • Student Memberships: FREE for your first year when registering with your student email & a copy of your school ID
  • Student Member $10 (with continued verification of school attendance)
  • Retired Professional Member – $25 
  • Individual Member – $35
  • Individual Sponsor – $500 (including recognition during the annual SOS event).

Organizational Membership Levels & Benefits

  • Organizational Basic – $60 (With FREE annual conference registrations for up to 2 staff members)
  • Organizational Patron – $100 (With FREE annual conference registrations for up to4 staff members)
  • Organizational Benefactor – $250 (With FREE annual conference registrations for up to 6 staff members)
  • Organizational Sponsor – $500 (With FREE annual conference registrations for up to 8 staff members and Organization recognition during the event)

Remember that ICPC is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. Your membership is tax-deductible to the extent provided by current law. If you require a receipt, please request one at the time of your renewal.

All memberships are for the calendar year, January-December. Renewals will be sent out during the month of January.
